How Much Does It Cost to Migrate a Website?
Page count is only one part of the scope. Functionality, content and launch risk matter too.

Start with the work, not a headline number
A small brochure site and a customer portal can have similar page counts but very different implementation requirements. Pricing should reflect content structure, forms, integrations, design fidelity, accessibility needs and acceptance testing.
Understand the discovery questions
Does the current site contain a page builder or reusable content model? Are there product variants, memberships, private documents or multilingual pages? Will editors need a CMS and approval workflow? Are third-party systems documented and accessible? Uncertainty may justify a discovery stage before a fixed proposal.
Budget for the transition
Migration work includes backups, exports, URL mapping, staging, QA, DNS coordination and post-launch monitoring. Hosting, software subscriptions and long-term support are separate operating costs unless explicitly included.
Compare proposals on the same basis
Ask each provider to describe what is preserved, rebuilt, replaced or excluded. Confirm who supplies content, who owns accounts and how change requests are handled. A clear scope is more useful than an apparently low price with undefined responsibilities.
Our estimator only displays numerical prices after an administrator configures actual pricing rules. Otherwise it provides planning complexity and invites a personalized quote. An automated page-based estimate is not a binding offer.

Put this into practice
Compare proposals on the same scope
- Separate the number of unique templates from the total number of URLs.
- List custom forms, integrations, product data and any authenticated areas.
- Identify who supplies content, images, brand assets and approval feedback.
- Ask which hosting, software licenses, maintenance and post-launch work are separate costs.
Two proposals with different inclusions are not directly comparable. Ask for deliverables, assumptions and exclusions in writing. A smaller brochure site and a transactional application can have similar page counts but very different implementation requirements.
